About JEE

JEE – Joint Entrance Examination is one of the national level engineering entrance examinations conducted every year for admission in UG engineering degree program. This is a two staged entrance exams; JEE Main Exam & JEE Advanced Exam. Admission to NITs, IIITs & centrally funded institutions are provided to the eligible candidates who become successful in JEE Main. Topped 2, 20,000 rankers in JEE Main are eligible to write JEE Advanced exam. Those who come in merit cum rank list of JEE advanced are eligible for the admission in IITs and Indian School of Mines Dhanbad. Successful candidates are offered admission in different engineering branch & in dual degree program.

Note: Paper-2 is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning (offline only).

Exam Pattern of JEE Main

JEE Main exam consists of 90 objective type questions & each question having 4 marks. 30 Questions from each subject Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry are asked.

The Eligibility Criteria to appear in JEE Advanced is given below

Exam Pattern of JEE Advanced

The JEE (Advanced) consists of two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Each Paper consists of three parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 3 separate sections i.e., Section-1, 2 & 3. Each paper contains total 60 questions consisting of 20 questions in each subject. The maximum marks are 264 comprising of 88 marks for each subject in Paper-1 and 240 marks comprising of 80 marks for each subject in Paper-2. Duration of each paper is 3 hours.
